    Stone mint L/11

    Dear all,

This came last week into my collection. I'm very happy with it but some dedicated EK collectors have told me that these L/11 belong normally in specific cases? In the last picture, the right cross came directly from a WWII veteran in this specific smooth texture case. Opinions pleaseā€¦

    Regards, Wim

Cases for the Deumer iron cross are generic Wim. Deumer has specific cases with their name in the upper lid but i'm quite sure they were also issued in 'blank' cases.
Often named cases are paired up with a matching L/11 ek1... so you have never 100% certainty either way. The quantity of crosses is not directly proportional with the named cases. Two great sets you have, in outstanding condition!

                Both outstanding!!

As far as I see, on the first cross (not the veteran's one) the Berlin white has gone away from the arms edge and the metal has now a "mirror effect". Is that correct?

Yes, the edges are polished while the rest of the frame is kept mat silver.

                        Hi Wim,
Very nice EK's, I really do like the Deumer EK's alot. I have had both marked and unmarked cases too. Here is one that I have in a marked case, the brother of your L/11.
