                Hi Van,

I recall Niemann featuring one of these "Godet" EK1s (actually part of a combo from memory) for sale and then a few weeks later it was featured as his fake of the week.

I can try an dig up the pics if if will help your friend face reality.

                Regards
                Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

Rule number one for Schinkels: These are NEVER marked.

                    Hello Van,

the spelling should be Schinkel and not shinkle. Schinkel refers to one of the most famous architects of Prussia, who also designed the Iron Cross. As a collector, one should at least have a basic knowledge of the topic, and that includes the spelling as well.

As far as the cross is concerned I am with the others and want to highlight Ben's rule: Schinkel-crosses are never marked with any manufacturer.

                    greetings,

                    Stefan

The "Godet" mark on the pin comes nowhere close to matching
                      the original Godet font style.
