    EK1-A non magnetic W&L? or????

I'm struggling with the frame on this one. A large portion of the beads have a kind of scalloped look to them. The core looks like a W&L going by the date heights. The other thing that's throwing me off is the catch is a round wire when it should be a flat wire. I'm not entirely convinced this is a W&L but some of the other features keep bringing me back to this firm. The core is non magnetic...

    Thoughts?

It's definitely a W&L. The earlier W&L's had a round catch, and yes, non-ferrous core. The flat-wire catch came out later. 'Scalloping' - you're seeing die wear. BTW, very nice cross!

I thought about die wear, but damn, that's a lot of wear! Wonder why they would keep a die going that long early on.

I can think of only one answer to that question - demand.

            Hey Guys!
Can you explain what scalloping is?
By the way the, cross is a jewel!

so lets say normal beading look like this "mmmm" The scalloping im referring to essentially "dishes out" the humps making it more like this "uuuu". if you look at the frame you can see where the beading almost seems sharp in certain places. this is what im referring to.

Were these ever made with a zinc core?
