    Opinion needed on ritterkreuz please!

    Hello people!

I am in need of some help with this 800 marked ritterkreuz. What is your opinion on it?
    A good original or not?

    Thank you!
    /David

Strange to see 008 stamp instead of 800.

Here is my K&Q to compare with.

The 800 stamp is upside down. Not common, but happened before.

From the photos I like the Ritterkreuz which started this thread. Looks to be textbook, besides the upside down 800 stamp. The early K&Q Ritterkreuze had no 65 stamped the ribbon ring.

Regarding the 008 stamping it was maybe Monday at the K&Q Factory
It should be a early cross as it don´t have the later die flaws on the rim.

I see differences regarding the characteristics between discussed cross and that one posted by AndyC. to me ring is not the typical fat donut as andy's cross shows. it seems thinner and does not sit on the upper arm. I see extra material between the arm and the ring.
not saying it's a fake. I guess I don't know enough about this maker ... just my two cents.

I would like to show some photos, for comparison.

Ralph, what is that horrible crude on the front of your RK?

And strangely, it does not touch the swas.

                        Why?

I think it's called the finish

Never seen a "finish" on any iron cross medal like this.
