    EK1 maker

    Hello,
Picked up this group at the SoS and wanted to run the EK1 by the experts here to determine a maker. I thought it might be an unmarked W&L but the versions I found had a round wire catch unlike this one. I also wondered about the three dots and the missing chunk of the numeral 9 in the date. To me the dots look almost to be slightly raised and to have never been painted. So what maker is it?
    Thank you,
    Dale

This is an original W&L EKI, yes. The earlier W&L EKI's had a round wire catch. As to the 'dots' on the date I cannot comment. I have never seen this before. As for a maker mark it may be stamped on the hidden side of the pin.

Thanks, unfortunately no marking on the underside of the pin. I agree that it most likely didn’t come from one man but the price was right so I bought it. Thanks for the help.
