Wideframe EKII - I have my doubts ...

    Fellow members,

I picked this up off the E-Stand this week and I'm not too sure on it.

Dimensions are 45mm wide and 44.8 mm high.

Note the unequal thickness of the outside edge of the 9 and 3 o'clock frames.

The makers mark total throws me. I can't make it out but I'm sure it doesn't say '24' - were there other makers?

No signs of acorns either on the ribbon ring or ribbon ring attachment.

    Core is magnetic.

    Comments please.

Reminds me about this cross i have in my fake folder. It is marked 16. Note how the frame is on top of the 9 in 1939.

Note the low quality of the frame.

            Thanks Peter,

Also, the 2 o'clock arm of my Swaz is slightly covered by the frame.

Saying that though, my swaz is quite crisp with sharp, straight edges.

Yes i noted that as well. Improved fake or differnt and original cross ?
I have bad feelings about your cross. More facts and opinions is needed.

              Cheers.

Here is a shot of my '24' - strangely it has a '0' also stamped on the ring as well - I see '024' on yours - just my observations.

Hagwalter that is a nice normal 24 whit the "dot" , or it can be a acorn as extra mark at the end off the maker mark. Most times that 24 are very hard to figure out as it´s mostly part off the the nr´s on the ring. The one you show do have been buffed hard as most i have are almost black on the frames, that say a high silver contend.
Dont forgett you have at least 3 more to get from that 24 maker, the acorn, the klovs and the WB as extra marks.

though it darn near looks like it in the photo - I had to go back and check - the '9'in 1939 is Not under the frame but is rather just hugging the edge - the tip of the '1' is also snug against the inner protion of the frame. The swas is also of the crisp variety. Here is a photo of the reverse

                      Thanks Guys,

                      Keep the comments coming.

I have to go off-line now as my daughter needs the computer to do her home work.

                      Regards ...

Dont forgett that "dot", acorn or clovs can be on the small ring also. One other to tell a 24 the dates on the core is low and most times the core is very matt black even if the ek is used.
