    Help with EK1 spange

I came across this spange at a local shop. Having been burnt on one of these before, I thought I better ask. I am not to optimistic about this one, especially the hardware.. The pin is also bent. Your comments would be much appreciated.Jacques

A very nice Eugen Schmiedehäusler , you don’t need to worry about this one mate.

Better safe than sorry Jacques...There is a fairly decent copy of the Schmidhäusssler spange floating around out there (shown at right)

            Cheers

Lovely spange. One of the best looking designs imho.

Yes, JC, the fake has fooled many. The dead giveaway is the thickness of the badge, it’s much thicker than the originals. Among other dissimilar features.

Yes agreed, this is a good one.

The ribbon on the bottom of the wreath is a quick easy identifier as to originality on these, along with the bottom of the "1".

Nice pick up if you decide to go for it!
