    RKT unusual wear ??

    Hi guys,

The following picture was taken out of the Book "Swastika At War" by Robert Hunt and Tom Hartman (circa 1975). It is a book full of color photos of a selection of pictures from the German Magazine Signal.

There is a shot of a group of German Soliders, one of which has the RK. But it appears it is attached to his uniform without being pinned around his neck. Anyone have some opinions of why this style presentation? Or just a recently awarded soldier posing for Propaganda pics?

My impression of this photo is these fellows are cooling down. The RKT has his collar open & the ribbon probally has hooks or snaps on the ends he has un-done in order to open his collar to let some air in.

    Best regards,

I stepped in to clean this thread up. A collector asked a question that had nothing to do w/ the back and forth personal attacks which followed. Please stay on topic.

Looking at the picture closer, the brown strap (over his shoulder) is wrapped over top of the RK ribbon as well ... obviously not a recent award. I could imagine in the hot weather, it would be rather uncomfortable to have the tunic buttoned all the way to wear it in the prescribed manner.
