Grinding the die or grinding the cross?

If they manually ground each one, then they would all not match right. Would make matching makers very hard. Or do you mean they manually ground the die?

And thanks for the encouragement) I am happy this forum exists. Definitely speeds up much of the learning.

Juncker probably did this just to save time - as not having to finish the corners by hand .

Study crosses .... this will take time .... lots of time !

Lots of fakes out there :
One sample to show to what absurd extreme they will go to !
A fake post war Souval/Juncker imitation - issued by Godet .

We can guide and help - but still all learning has to be done be the individual .

The beading being even and regular indicates the grinding is done by machine . Some hand touch up occurs prior to the final hardening of the positive production die . This leads to minor appearance differences ( mainly corners ) between production dies .
