    L57 EKII Spange Real?

    Hi Everyone,
I have been offered this EKII Sapnge in with a lot of other pieces. The rest of the stuff is 100% but I have never seen prongs like these before.
    Any thoughts on the piece.
    Thanks,
    Keith

I have seen prongs like that -- but I've not seen anything like the rest of this Spange. "L/57" is a new manufacturer for me.

        Thanks.

You're right, Stefan! (I guess I have to spend more time reading books! )

IMO the sapnge is good. L/57 belongs to the Boerger & Co. and it is known spange maker.

Correct, page 103, L/57 spange is in the middle!

the spange reminds me of the very early spangen with the "curved trapezoid" if you compare either the numerals (3) or the eagle's head.

maybe börger und co. did produce these early spangen or they took them as a pattern.

                  here's a spange from george's collection:

Here's an "800" silver version of the early-type Spange....

.... and it has the same kind of mounting prongs as the "L/57."

                        that's interesting!

the only things that are totally different are the eagle's claws...

george, is there any variant -either ek or spange - you don't have in your collection?

                        regards,
                        stef
