    DKiG engraved "Rudolf Klotz"

This was sold at auction today: https://www.bidsquare.com/online-auc...-cased-1645100

Not knowing anything about the DK it looked good at first sight. However after some basic research, details like the stamp on the pin and the rivets don't match the known genuine awards. I guess the price is really the final proof.

    What do you guys think?

Sorry, the fakers screwed up the date on this fake, it should read 2004, not 1944.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

Bad fake. Not even close. I just saw another fake just like this also with an inscription. I think the fakers are calculating that engraving a supposed recipient on the back will get someone excited so that they overlook how poor a fake it is.

EDIT: I went over to the other forum and re-checked. It was this exact same fake that a member on another forum posting asking about authenticity.

Did this piece of junk sell? If so, for how much? I cannot see that because I'd have to sign up and create a membership.

A really poor fake, should cause no danger.
I have seen them with several different engravings, mostly ss related.

That's a shame. No collector is perfect and I myself have bought a few bad awards in the past, but that was back in the in 1990's. Today we have so much better and more easily accessed reference material, that to pay that kind of money without research is foolish. There are some challenging fake items out there today, but this DKiG is not one of them.

It's sad that these still pop up for sale ! I guess there are some who still have no respect for buyers as long as they get the $$$$$ ! Tom
