is this boxed iron cross 1st class any good?

I bought this recently... and just wanted to see if it's original? It's not hallmarked anywhere.

The seller bought items at various auction houses, and it was not a direct veteran buy.

The cross looks like a good W&L to me but the style of case isn’t one I would associate with this maker but that’s not to say it’s wrong.
W&L cases tend to be the domed type.

Can’t comment on the card outer casing but it looks good to me.

My opinion is that I’m leaning towards it being a good set.

I see on the padding in the box a "ring" mark. As if there was a 2nd class medal sitting in the box for a long while... and perhaps this 1st class medal was placed into the box at some point.

If they are original, I would be happy... even if not matching. Robert

Looks like a good set to me. Perhaps his EK2 was placed with the EK1. It happened.
