RK outer cardboard box - is it real

I placed this on the wrong site sorry, could you please tell me if this is real? I have been offered this with a lot of other items and I was wandering if it was good. I have seen these as part of a set with the medal but not on its own. Sorry if the photo's are not good

These cartons are VERY RARE in my experience, but this one appears to be from the period. I like it!

Thanks for the reply, it is very simple but nice. the only issue is how much do I offer for a card board box?

I would wait for more opinions on the box. No offense to Br. James or his knowledge but with the price of these boxes being what they are (median price of $2000 +), as a seller/prospective buyer I would want more opinions.

You might want to also provide pictures of the corners/staples and black light the box.

With that being said, I would agree with Br. James that what you show looks promising.

No offense taken, Gary, and I agree wholeheartedly: one would hope to receive as many knowledgeable comments as possible, and especially if these cartons command the kind of prices that Gary mentioned!

              Best of luck,

I have an original lazy 2 KC with the cardboard outer box. One difference I can see is that mine does not have the finger cutouts on the sides, I don't know if that is significant or not.

Thanks Tom, I was hoping that we would get some feedback from people who have these boxes, usually the fakes do not have extra bits done to them but who knows. Nigel

Tom this box also came with some KC ribbon and a loop, the ribbon has 18 strands of white which is thought of as being attributed to the lazy 2 KC, how many strands has yours got? I am hopefully going there on Thursday to take some more photo's. Nigel

I am very fortunate to have 3 outer cartons for RK.

                      I have outer cartons for a Juncker, a S&L, and a K&Q RK.

All 3 cartons have the name of the company printed on the carton.

I do not see any manufacturers name printed on the carton at the start of the thread. That's not to say that there may not be cartons without a manufacturers name that are period.

However, personally, as stated above, the price that an authentic outer carton sells for I would hang on for a carton with a manufacturers name printed on it.

Thanks Allan, I am going to see the collection tomorrow so I will take some more photo's. I just thought that it would complete the group if I got it. I might give it a miss but depends on price

More photo's of the box with staples and I think that I can see a little box on the left like an LDO box! What do you think?
