I think this could very well be a "Carl Forster & Graf, Schwäbisch Gmünd" packet.

To answer your question, yes the packet is original. But when it is a Carl Forster I would give it a much lower value over any other packet out there.
Can you get a shot of the back or ask which maker is on it?
