    EK2 Case, wartime or not?

    Hey guys,

Wanting to get more opinions on this EK2 case.

This is what i have been told.

This type of cross was normally given to a high ranking officer or at an important ceremony, as it is a privately purchased L/11 and comes in a mini knight's cross style case, which again would have had to be privately purchased.

I know the cross is good, just need to know about the case.

    Thanks
    Lewis

              IMO a WW1 case.

No answer to that I think.

The only 'issued' WW11 EK11 case is the LDO type as far as I am aware.

But there are numerous 'private purchase' types of case (and I include the special presentation cases for ceremonies), left over stock from WW1, between the wars during WW11 until regulations were issued.

Many examples of 'private purchase' EK11 case's appear in publications, but no catalogue of the various types exists so far as I am aware.
