Hi, this is IMO a nice, original case for an earlier BSW pilot badge. Unfortunately the gold color of the lettering is faded

IMHO the case has been "repainted" with something. Just my opinion. Looks like where it is scuffed it has blueing now.

Seller is a good and honest guy I have done business with but that's what I see here.

I have personally never seen lettering so completely disappear and the rest of the top look so fresh.

You might try taking a soft damp cloth to see if the lettering reappears... I would.
