    KC case

Just received this case and would like to know if it's period, 57, or repo. I've never handled a real KC. Thanks for your time.

Not a wartime case. Could be for a '57.

Looks like a flat bottom 1957 period KC etui ( made by ??? ).
However, have not seen the metal stud around the push button on this type of period cases.
If you glue the inlay back, will be good as new. These should fetch around 100 Euro on Bazaar.

                Grtz,
                Mathijs

I would concur with my learned peers.

                    Mathijs/Tom,

Roughly, as your best ''guesstimate,'' what sort of era would you estimate this case to have been produced in? The early '60s, maybe?

I ask, as you potentially seem aware of this ''pattern,'' and as noted has the surround around the push-button; do you see any other inherent differences to note too?

                    Kind regards,

                    Marcus

                      Hello Marcus,

Its difficult to pinpoint these exactly down to a couple of years.
From what I've seen, this type of case is mainly found with the 2nd pattern cored 57er KC ( made by St&L ).
Probably indeed during the sixties ( however early or late - difficult to say ).
The pattern on this particular one matches known examples from that time.
As said, the only difference is the metal stud around the push button.
Is that a concern ? Most likely not, but it could mean this particular etui is a later sixties version.
The later etuis ( eighties ) do no match the pattern, but do have the metal stud in place.

                      Grtz,
                      Mathijs

It looks to be the same case (older) than my 57er etui. It came with an 80s era S&L RK.
