        An important point here is that Orth may well have had their own designated paper packets as did many other makers but their LDO badges had to be supplied in LDO packaging on which it wouldn't be unusual to stamp their LDO number.

        Stamping the award designation on the front is much less usual but there are examples of other makers including S&L doing this. The stamps weren't like the one on this packet though.

              For sure Orth used LDO packets and boxes stamped L/14 wherever needed. I already said that IMO the packet itself is original except designation.
              And of course I did not say that self made designation marks are unusual. Many company used them--Souval, Glaser, ST&L, Wernstein to name a few. But all of them are personal to the company, and not of the same type for 4 differently located makers as we see here.

                Hmmm...interesting. I just realized that may be we're speaking about different things. Did you mean that specially designed packets (for IAB, GAB, KVK etc) were not used for LDO items but only for PKZ official award? And the same badges going on sale have to be packed in LDO generic envelopes/boxes only? Or did I get you wrong?

                  Yes Serg, that's what I meant - LDO medals/badges in LDO packets, packets with specific designations for PKZ/awarding authorities.

                      LDO packaging wasn't introduced until March 1941 and the LDO didn't cover Kampf- und Leistungsabzeichen until later. So it's possible that these awards may have been available for purchase in this type of packet before they became subject to the LDO rules.
