Does anyone know what class this eagle order is for ?

Dear Members,

I was offered these medals , but are more interested in the red box.

I have two first class order of the German eagle.

One with swords and one without.

The inside of the box says with swords, but I cannot upload the photo.

Does anyone know from the outside and the size of the box, is this for a 1st class order.

Well if the title in the lid says first class it probably is.
Case looks authentic to me

It looks to be a 3 rd class box ?

There was a change is designation i think in 1942/43 former first class became third class or aimething like that. This is all from the top of my head because I not able to check it in my books.
I can check it tomorrow.

This box is without doubt for an order of the German Eagle 1st class with swords

This is the perpetual problem, mixing Stufe with Klasse. Steven, the case is as labelled inside the lid a III.Klasse of the 1943 regulations. Before that date it was synonymous with the 1.Stufe.

The one with the swords is the correct one for this case.

I don not believe so , I believe that the box offered to me is a medal type box ?

Steven, both cases shown by you will the 50mm neckcross also shown by you. The case for the medals is similar in size to the 45mm V.Klasse.
