    Godet - Volkspflege - Packet:

A Social Wellfare 'Volkspflege' Packet I happen to run into and grabed not certain if it was good or not . A bit different than the maker stamp on the EK2 packet... but quit different than the shown fake here .
50/50 chance it might be original ..... awaitng verdict now .

    Thanks Douglas

Looks pretty good to me and not the Hauptmunzamt Wien packets that's usually found. I'd say great find! Did it come with the medal or just the packet?

Thanks Dave ... I took it on a hunch only that it was a good one .... seames I was luck out with the packet . Funny you should ask - the seller had both items at one time ... packet and ribbond award . Trying to get the award thatcame with it . He had traded the award with a friend and is trying to get at least pictures of it or even maybe the award itself back again . Have to wait and see . The packet shows clearly that an award was inside for many years .

It would be nice to get the award especially if it's marked for Godet, which it probably isn't, but it would be nice. I'll post pics of my #30 packet, award and mini tomorrow. The packet you have also has a different script than mine.
          Very interesting.

              I like it too!
Dave, these are usually come with unmarked medals, I have seen 2 sets before...may be this time we'll be lucky to see the maker marked medal.

Dave ....... after you mentioned the different script I had a quick look around and found a Czech Medal packet with a slightly different stamp ... it has the 'comma' at the end of the first line and the 55 is in closer as well . ; the boader sits in closer too . Are we looking at a early and later stamp mayby . ?? Was the actual Medal allways Zink base ?

Not really sure, but no doubt 2 different stamps. Not sure on the material of the medal either.
                  Here is my Packet.

                    Interesting Dave :
I take it the stick pin was optional to get .
I would guess you medal is plated brass... ?
Your ribbon seams to an early type with that kind of 'water-wave' marking - if I got the name right ? ... commonly found on other ribbon too - Service , Westwall, ....etc .

The stickpin was married to the set of course, it took me a long time to find one.
You might be right on the material, I never really gave it much studying. The ribbon also never given it much thought other than if it was original or not, but yes you do find that "Water-wave" on other ribbons like the westwall, service, and luftshutz, which I believe could be early.
You are probably more educated in these areas than I am.

                        Thanks Dave :
No word or pictures yet of the Medal that came in my packet .
Did notice a lot of fakes of this madal being put out into circulation .
The water-wave ribbons I have are very thin- silky- soft and limp !

My ribbon is pretty stiff and not that flexible, but that could be because it's been folded this way it's entire life. I know what you mean though because my Westwall ribbon is very silky and flexible

Why ribbons are different : This depend on :
a)on the thickness of the indevidual threadlets and how many there are in a strand .
                            b) arangment of the thread itself ; see picture below .... and
                            c) weave type ; straight or offset and lose or tight stiching !
Fine straight thread ribbons are smooth - cool fealing with no hold or stiffness to them as well ! Most of them show the water wave effect .
