This is my best interpetation of the stamp, Question marks where unreadable.
I got this with a L/50 Godet EKI.
Any thoughts on this? And no it is not the same Halbetui that was sold on the Estand in the past few months although the same inner lid stamp.
I am most interested in the stamp 2598 D&B and what it means... The cardboard cut out matches the EK type posted in Your reply.
Thanks in advance Marcus or anyone else that may be able to fill me in on this!

Sorry Kevin, I've been so lapse in response.

It is my belief D&B were a case manufacturer.

Now, with these D&B variety of cases, the base, the bottom and the lid of the case are normally also marked up with a four digit indentification code.

I think these are in part assembly and identification codes in much the same manner as the KB system.

However, D&B used their system pre-war and KB codes were a wartime realisation - in my opinion and 'findings' as it were.

    Hope that helps, mate.
