LDO case for 57 version badge and medals?

    Hello guys

Just wanna ask if there were official LDO case for 57 version awards. For example, LDO case for 57 iron cross or LDO case for 57 wound badge etc. If there is, could you post some pictures?

    Thanks a lot

I did a search for you and came up a post.

The first one shows a DKIS with 57 case.

I'd think not, as the LDO was long defunct. If you find one with 57er, it almost certainly is a wartime leftover. Who would've made them in 1957?

Thanks Mil. But that one doesnt state if the case is LDO or not and can't see any LDO mark?

As I PM-ed you earlier, LDO was closed down after the war.
If you are looking at cases produced after the war, yes. unofficial cases.

That's not an LDO case, though.

I can't imagine a scenario in which you'd find a case produced any time near 1957 with an LDO mark.

The LDO ceased to exist with the demise of the TR in 1945, so there was certainly never any officially sanctioned LDO cases post that era. However, inadvertently such a case may have accompanied a '57 award of sorts.

Case parts as in the case shell, outer covering, base and linings..etc in part are to found in the construction of some very early '57 counterparts. It's more than possible a pre '45 case in its entirety were also used, and I dare say it happened with whatever stocks were available.
