              Another one of these!!!

Can you take a pic of under the base (tray) please.

I have one of these that was sent to me and I didn't want to force out the base in case I inflicted any damage on it.

Nigel, I too have been very interested in these large EK etui's and have read prior threads here on the site... I am looking forward to what Marcus and others have to say about Your case!
It sure looks Wartime period judging from the glue and penciled in markings, These have been declared 57er etuis in the past, I am however confused by the wartime looking craftsmanship shown in your example.
I know it really means nothing... as crosses and cases have been mated many times since the War. But wonder if a cross was inside when You got it, and if so what maker it was? We do know some makers continued making EKI's post war so I am curious?
If a post war cross manufacturer EKI was inside it would perhaps be a clue, But not definitive!
                    Kevin

hi Kevin, the case was empty when i got it, so no help there i'm afraid! from the replies i've got from both this thread, and one i started in the 57 section, it seems a lot of us have these, and no one seems 100 % on them! they're certainly not modern, but are they something Souval were putting their postwar EK's in, or maybe Deumer or S & L were using for their early 57ers?? i'd love to find out!! -Nigel
