    "621.K.B." - EK1 Tray Stamp

    Hello,

I'm trying to ascertain what the 621.K.B. embossed stamp on the bottom of EK1 case trays represents? Any insight into this matter would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

621 relates to the specific punched out recess (slit) in the base, or if you like it was a base code overall . Such awards found to adorn cases with this very code are: KVK, Ost Volk and EK 1st Class.

629 would be for the wound badge, and thus far only known for that award.

Not all bases were used for a multiple of awards, some were very specific from the 1914-18 Honour Cross case to the RK for just a couple of many examples.

Not all bases at a time or even for the duration of the war had codes due to various reasons.

D&B (a maker) would use a different number system to denote their base types and indeed on certain cases for most parts of the case shell construction (base, lid, and bottom of case)

So their EK case has different numbers.
