I can see why you are worried about this one. The outside of the case looks good but the catch mechanism does look like it was made yesterday and the base looks crude

It looks like a nice earlier case to me.

i dont see the worry. it might be the cut of the cloth material in the back, or maybe the cake paste glue, or as suggested, that the pin mechanism looks to new?

1- the base cloth material looks good, especially the reverse of the area that receives the pin,

2- the glue in the borders look exactly as it should,

3- the mechanism is under the pillow base. it shouldnt show too much wear. the opening pin looks and holds into the case as it should.

            in summary...

Thanks for the input guys. I was a bit worried as the mechanism looks like it was made yesterday. You have now put my mind at rest .
I shall enjoy it as being 100% original.

Hi Mark, no name to be found inside, it has only got the number 53 written in pencil.

Regrding the base compared to Luft cases it would seem so, yes (to an extent). Overall I like the cases features. The catch looks fine to me, also.

Sorry to not exaplain further in detail....time is some what not on my side at the moment.

I'd like to come back to this when I've more time another day though.
