    EK1 packet

I searched some old threads and am curious if the type in Gordons book on page 149 is considered a good one for these. I picked one up like Gordon's example so I guess if its bad so is his? Sorry no images of mine but its the same as his example without being able to see the complete back it has the same "opening rules" . I guess it makes sense they could have come in a paper packet as well i.e. assault badges do. Any opinions? These may not be accepted by most.

If it's the Deumer marked sorts and it is exactly like the one in Gordon's book then yes, I do like them.

If ever you part with it let me know please.

It might not have been every makers choice ir even option as I think not only a form or two of packets were used - I also would suggest that they were distributed for issue in paper tissue also.

Rather like the KVK's we see from the Deschler hoard.

Well I can't say anything about the packet, because I don't have the book here and there are no pics in this thread, but I do know that there where EKI's in a EKII kind of packet shown in the movie Stalingrad.....eh...well I don't have a clue what my point is with this , but maybe they look alike?

      Cheers, Thomas

A collector friend of mine has one of these also, I cant remember the maker but after looking it over a few months back was pretty well convinced it is real!
Nice purchase there Sammler and I like you wonder why the maker stamp is removed? And hope it gets the blessing here!

I can't undestand why there aren't more of these packets around.

I can understand why they exist, shortage of materials, replacement EK1, buyer doesn't want another case.

Has anyone ever found a packet with a EK1 in it?

Part of the answer is in your post Allan, I beleive when a replacement was accepted in this package the packet was thrown away and the EK stored in the original Etui.
The EKII not having an Etui the packets were kept for storage of the Medal, The reason we see so many EKII packets as opposed to EKI packets?

                    Hi Allan,

I have one that is complete. It is an L/11 with envelope and paper and that is the way I bought it.

Thanks for the images of yours, looks like a nice set. These are pretty scarce IMO.
