    Spanish Eastern front medal packet

Picked this set up today. Medal is very nice, unmarked but identical to my "1" marked medal.
Never had the pleasure to handle one of these packets before. Rather than a packet it's actually very thin folded paper with a Deschler stamp on the back.
Comments from anyone who has experience of these would be welcome.
    Thanks, Ant.

If that is real (and that is a big IF), it is the nicest condition Spanish Blue Division Medal I have ever seen. The gold color looks very strange compared to the many originals I have seen, though. And come to think of it, how did the ribbon fit in that folded packet???

            Hi Tom!
The photos here of the medal are shot with the camera settings for paper. If you look in the General Wehrmacht Awards forum you will see much better shots of the medal. The medal is exactly the same as the "1" marked medal i already have with no finish left on it.
            The ribbon is a repro.
            Ant.

I'm not exactly convinced, I'll have to check this lettering against numerous other fake sorts.

I looked on the other thread, and I do admit that the medal looks a lot better in the photos shown there. The repro ribbon explains the size discrepancy. Now for the packet itself....I don't know!

Thanks for taking the time out to have a look at the medal Tom, it seems to be much the same colour as those that Weitze has for sale but the packet is another matter altogether. So far i'm not convinced by the paper it's printed on but have nothing to compare it too.
Hopefully Marcus has some on file.
                  Ant.

I to would like to know the outcome on this, if its the one i think it is thought about it myself, but as im not at home didn't want to take the risk.
Hope it's good news for you Ant

Thanks Leigh, it can be returned but i'd rather it was genuine!

I can't say I'm convinced they stamped wrap paper with that mouthful of a designation and the maker mark also ??? Just the maker mark I could conceive, yes.

Too iffy/odd for me, but that being said just because I've not seen the likes exacty it dosen't mean there wasn't this form of adaptive packing during the war.

In fact there was from combat badges to the EK1, but just wrapped in plain or coloured of sorts tissue paper and wax paper and even paper - it was common practice as was it to have badges non wrapped too !!

And also if you think wound badges to EK2 from the Imperial era would come in informal looking wrappings sometimes marked with the award true and of course a maker mark or abbreviation/initials.

So it's not out the realms of possibility lets say, but I'd like to see if this designation matches the fake packet, there are also letters in the designation that I need to look more closely at........I have a hunch this is bad though - we shall see touch wood.
