    Imperial "matchbox" cases??

    Hi,

Pictured below are 2 "matchbook" cases. The green one (~50 mm square) has been kicking around for ages. A Prussian EK2 came in it. I thought the case had just been used for packing by the seller, until the grey one (~55 mm square) rolled up recently containing an Oldenburg FA2X on bow ribbon. Are these slip cases actually some type of generic Imperial or 20s award packets?

    Regards
    Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

      I confess I don't know mate.

Have you tried the GMIC and asked RickV ? He was a big collector of TR and Imperial cased/packeted and boxed awards of all insundry of variations and types.

If I recall and I don't know what on earth was in it, I'm sure he had one similar Mike ????

As we know such ''matchbox'' sorts were used in the first pattern LDO series: spangen and medal sorts at that.
