    Imperial EKI case.

    Hi guys,

Recent purchase. Looks good to me. What are your thoughts? Can anyone assist me dating this? I have not had one with this kind of push button opener with a cap before. Any info will be appreciated as it is all good learning experience for me.

    9 pictures to follow.

    Regards to all,
    Stu

Difficult to attest to a period on this for me, part of me thought post 1918 and an inter war period case, but then there are warime sorts of a nature to like this also.

The trouble is with this Imperial cases there sooo many obscure variatons, some are more common than others, this one I can't vouch of seeing the like s exactly before, but then I'm not conversant in Imperial at all.

I am aware of an inter case in red that is a family item of a friend that looks very similar or rather it reminds me of yours Stu - I'll see if I can dig a pic out.

(if I don't get back to this remind please.......I'm a bugger for that)

I have a 1914 'WS' marked EKI that came directly out of the woodwork in exactly the same type case. I believe it to be for a private purchase EK I, early war period pre1918, although I have no hard evidence that it wasn't from the 20s.

A nice genuine earlier 1914 EK1 case. That type of flat-head push-button is common on many types of pre-18 Imperial award/order cases.

I have examples of this type of case with the cross motif outlined in both Silver and Gold.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!
