    Case+Content Question

While searching for something else today I had taken out some cases and found something that had me wonder. These are some of my wound badge cases and while I always thought they were of different size in regard to grade I noticed this

Now these two on the right are silver award cases in my understanding.

The smaller one is a Münzamt Wien case, the other one puzzles me

Is the content fitting for the one on the right or is it a gold grade case?

    Winston,

I don't think a type 1 BWB would have originally come in a SWB box.

Have you ever taken the inner out of the box on the right? If so does the box have any markings?

        Moved!

Post the case at the cases and packet forum for better opinions.

The small burgundy case is fine, the other i'm not sure.
THe black cases perhaps are ok too.

629 is the designated wound badge base - the burgundy are not sole silver cases but for gold and silver alike. The back cases too: are for both silver and gold grades. To dispell another collector notion about black cases they were intended for silver and gold at a stage and possibly thoughout the war for some makers. Consideration must be given that the cases cost more to aquire and dispense with awards in than the production of a single badge (that certainly goes for wound badges and I can vouch.......quote an award maker saying that about Luft awards !!!!!)The Ldo case can you show a picture of the base too. You dont have to take the base out as on a 629 opposed to a 621 (commonly conused) they have two round cut-outs top and bottom of the vertical pin recess.(sorry about the grouping of paragraphs my laptop seems to do this on the WAF)
