    Silver Bomber Clasp Case

I picked this up recently and posted it on the Luftwaffe section. It is one of those cases with the bold lettering and contained a zinc bomber pilot with very little finish remaining. Skip recommended that the case be looked at. What do you think? Thanks, Richard

Uuumm, I can see why Skippy elected a thought or two on this:

              - Odd looking designation, this was my first concern, I've not seen one like it and it looks more 'applied' than stamped in.

              - Outer covering in this stimpled effect, I think a first for me on a clasp case.

Personally considering all and more, I think it could very well be ok.

The base is a genuine sure enough, that dosen't swing my opinion though.

The outer covering I like, the catch I'm comfortable with not being of a more modern era in a reproduction sense - it looks like a period sorts to me if honest.

I'm 51/49 in it's favour but not 101% sure, again, one of those examples you need in hand really and even to conduct a test or two (black light)

Marcus - The designation is definately stamped into the material and not applied. If you would like, I would be happy to send the case to you to look at and assess in hand. If interested, just send me an email with your address. Personally I feel very good about it. I purchased it without even trying to take out the inner cover. I was pleased later to see the manufacturer designation.

MDJ - I expect yours is similarly marked on the interior; does yours come off? Here is a image of the reverse of the clasp. Does yours match this set-up as well?

Two badges from the same maker with the same case. Two good ones or two fakes? I fell very good about the clasp and I suppose you do as well so the body of evidence looks positive.

                  Thanks,
                  Richard

                    Richard,

Mine has the same interior matching number like yours....They are identical.
The glue doesnt glow under Black light.

I am positive about it....so was Detlev Niemann..

                        Thanks Richard ,

I'm more of the inclination it is ok the more I look at it. I'm certainly more convinced than not and I don't say that lightly - I'm off to Stuttgart soon I'll see if I can find one the same over there too.

A 631 base for a KB made one is correct (I beleive the KB pattern as for many other cases also comes unmarked as indeed there are other makers also.
