imprint of ek2/ring clearly visible in tissue, seller insisted a kvk2/swords was correct medal for this packet!

            Hi Charlie,

You did well, the seller was rather daft as the packet clearly states EK on the front not KVK and why swords too at that ?

Makes you wonder about folk eh !

Well, this packet is perfectly genuine and is encountered with maker 27, the flap is sometimes marked those that are devoid we think did have that of Anton Schenkle but for reasons it's been torn off. Those that exist with the maker mark have the name Maria Schenkle, Atons 'successor' I think Gordon put it.

              mm 27!

You won't believe this! The seller also had a mint mm27/290mm ribbon on his table, which I also got! I'm betting they went together at one time. Thank you VERY much Marcus. Charlie

Well I never Charlie !!! I bet you these were a pair and now thankfully you've rematched them up.

The condition/tarnish (just) looks just like that of the other several packeted 27's I have seen and own - in for a penny in for a pound, I'd bet they belong together certainly !

Thanks, guys! BTW, the packet has no slot cut in for flap, and I can't see where a flap was ever on the top. Charlie

No slot on this one Charlie, the flap is like the bottom one (rectangular) just about that is, perhaps a quarter of inch longer - if you look at the reverse side and the very edge of the paper you should (perhaps best under magnification) that one is like a sealed seam the obverse more rough (we're talking a knats whisker difference), but normally you can see the cut.

I'll show you the two later if I get a chance in the day; I've got to finish off the skirting board in the living roon at the wifes orders first though !!
