I think that this 'type' of case is a variation '57 and rather uncommon.

Strange RK case

Hi,
I think Dave Kane has hit the nail on the head here,as the case came with a non S&L 57 RK.I thought the cross was a lot later than the case,but maybe not.
I was hoping to identify the case maker especialy if it was of WW2 vintage,this would have been usefull.
Anyway I will now post both in the 57 forum as an example of a non S&L second pattern RK.Thanks to all contributers of the thread.

These cases were used by firma Rudolf Souval for their 1950s to1960s production Knight's Crosses. The later 1960s cases had foam rubber under the top silk. This, however, has been re-placed by many collectors.
This style of case is strictly post-war.
