    DKiG Case

Looking for some comments on this case. I have only owned a few and am not as up to speed as I am on EK cases. I am particularly interested in comments on the inside of the case. The sides appear to have a "marbled" effect and I have only seen solid white/cream on the inside of award cases. Thanks in advance.

      interior

I can post more pictures, but I think the front, back and interior shots should be enough to formulate an opinion.

I confess I've seen this on good and bad examples on an array of cases.

Can I see the catch please and does this example glow under BL, check the frame border and liner.

The outer covering looks ok if honest, but I can't go just on that. Is it possible to get a close up of the gold line as well.

Anyone help more on this please.

                    ???

The base itself is solid, not unlike some of the 1914 EK1 cases that have a wooden cutout. I believe the base below the black felt is wood. It also appears that the base is made of two seperate layers and that the lower layer has blue material in it. Have circled the blue material in this photo. The weight of the case is my biggest concern as I have found no examples that weigh anywhere as much as this one.

Uuumm !!! Well, probably as well I asked, sure the outer covering looks like a period pattern ( I can't match though 101% to genuine known examples) but the wooden base and the broad stem and the the apex catch i.e more pointed head that more or less rounded (acceptable on a square catch and thin stem catches) would lead me to believe this is likely fake in all honesty.

If I were to say one way or the other, I'd deduce fake and not even considering a '57 version, it's really like nothing I'd expect from a genuine case of this type and is more trait wise: catch and base construction in the repro guise.

Sure some other cases do have wooden bases or part of that are genuine, this one I really don't think is acceptable.

Anyone any other thoughts please ?
