    Question on LDO and L/11

a L/11 marked EK1 is being offered in the estand with an LDO case. for furthering my knowledge on this, i come to you guys. most cased L/11's i've seen have been in the EK regular case. I figured that many of the L marked would not use the LDO. i came to the conclusion that the L/11's always used the regular case rather than the LDO one. I have seen very limited cases in which there is not doubt that the case and medal are an original set. most of the EK1's that i have found that came in the LDO case are, the L/15, L / 52,
L /54, L / 58, and L / 59. any additions to the list, as well as clarifications to these thoughts would be greatly apprciated.

I have noticed this sure as you say about the L/11 Ek1's, but I wouldn't take it for granted that this was the norm full stop.

Why ? Theres nothing conclusive that only these L/11's only came in standard cases, but indeed as said there appears to be a trend only for them to come in standard cases.

My L/12 Ek1 pin back comes in a standard (non Ldo for the sake of this thread) case with outer carton and the other cartoned L/12's come like this too - not a sign of an Ldo logo.

Who knows the explanation for the L/11's is it both marked types, are all the standard cases the same type ? Had they always come in standard types or not. I confess I haven't kept on top of this but I do recall a similar thread ages ago now.

-Deumer was evident in supplying occupation forces with awards - could these standard cased sorts be married pairs for sale to Allied forces ?

    - Make do and mend scenario with depleted resources and useing up existing stock of cases ?

    - L/11 (some) marked awards being issued/dispatched to front line stores for troops rather than dispatched to retail outlets at some demand stage or period in Deumers production for some obscure never to be known reason in reality. Before after or during maybe some had Ldo cases and distributed so - it makes sense they would have been.

I'm just playing devils advocate with the first 'Allied/married' notion - I don't perceive this as the possible explanation in all honesty and I dare say this thread will be jumped on by owners of accredited examples

Probably something along the lines of the second and third notion - I truely don't know ???
