This is one genuine version* known to exist of the Campaign in Africa medal rendered on the Germans by the Italians, hence of course it is an Italian packet - many fake sorts of this medal packet incorrectly make them in the German guise. But indeed the award was made in Italy and distributed hence to Germany from the manufacturer: principally F.M. Lorioli & Sons of Milan.
I'm not aware of any German makers of this medal ? Since it wasn't official and when Italy 'swopped' sides of course they were not to be worn !!
Another nice version* if it can be called that really is one like my example I show, yet it has the designation of the award stamped lightly on the reverse in German if I recall correctly.
I do have a pic in my files and know the owner too of this lovely 'marked' example (Rob post it mate if you read this)
This example and the only sole type with the odd deviation that I'm aware to be genuine certainly, is made of wax paper. All paper forms of this packet I have encountered have been reproduction's with the designation on the obverse in fraktur.
