Alan, I have taken the liberty of converting your ring stamping into a negative format as this sometimes makes things easier to see. Hope you don't mind.
It's still not that clear, but looking at it I would guess at '33'. Maker 33, Friedrich Linden, Ludenscheid does appear on lists of known EK2 manufacturers, but I can't find any examples of this makers crosses to compare against. I don't feel it is a '23' as all the examples I have seen or can find have a stamped mark and not incused as this one is.
Either way, I don't think the cross is correct to the bag as it would need to be marked '6' or L/24 as these were Fritz Zimmermans numbers. Again, I have never seen an L/24 or L24 marked EK2, nor have I seen that mark on any listing of known original EK2 manufacturers. 6, yes, but not L/24 or L24.
