WWI IC 2 Packet with WW2 1st Claas Cross

Here is an issue packet from a WW1 Iron Cross 2nd class, but the indication is that it contains a 1939 E.K. I.

Wonder if this was common in the early stages of the war?

Yep, this is a genuine packet I've a couple of these TR era marked; one with an elaborate swas depiction.

I'm just back in from a vacation; but off the top of my head this packet could well be 1930's in manufacture in my opinion, I've other paper form's of packet from the pre second war era: rise of the TR period, and retailor and manufacturer alike used 'Imperial' effigies.

It's very likely such a packet was used be it incipient usage say, or just stock.

This Froese chap if I recall correctly (I have to get my packets etc form the bank) is the named packet (generic by use and purpose) we find cloth DK's in and my 'geneiric' swas marked packet has writing on it pertaining to the sale of EK ribbon bar's....or rather a batch of them in the 'Froses' packet.

I must check the last para info though, however I have seen this type of packet posted before on another forum also.

Still working on a couple of details, but here is a TR era generic non specific packet.

This was has wrtten on it the use for EK button hole ribbons (multiple of)


The DK cloth packet is another maker/distritbutor-retailor, so disregard the part above in that concern.
