it occured to me the other day that the court mounted medals should had come in some kind of packaging. however, i have never seen one in any kind of case or packet. i assume that these should be an ldo or private purchase thing. i was wondering if by example, a single mounted court medal could had been purchased in an ldo box.

Singles: of course bars of two or more can be seen presentation cases in array of guises, as for single medals I can only imagine that perhaps the retailor used his own packaging, marked or unmarked perhaps or solely wrapped in tissue paper perhaps even ?
I don't know for certain once the single award had been tailored. I would think some even were done via the post, so that knocks on the head a packet as such.

I would agree with Marcus.
As court mounted medals would be private purchase items, the retailer would have used his own packaging.
You often see mounted medals in nice plush velvet lined jewelers cases.

Dear Das Reich,
Multiple medal bars in cases/boxes etc are quite uncommon. It seems that the larger/more exotic the medal bar the greater the chance of them being put in a case. From what I have seen, multiple medal bars that are in cases were often put in cases with the distributor or tailor's name on them. These typically were plush lined cases which hinged open similar to the issue medal cases. I have also seen boxes for medal bars with the distributors name on the outer cover and I own a medal bar that was pinned to a manufacturers card with the individual's name pencilled on the reverse of the card. Additionally there seem to bbe some generic cases with the Treue um Treue motto on the interior liner. I imagine these cases could be purchased seperately for putting the soldiers medal bar in them.
I have never seen a single medal bar on a card/in a box or case.
