I like these huge cases; they are exactly the same, just like twins!
They are for The Knights Cross to the War Merit Cross, produced by Deschler & Sohn.

Yes, I like the RK KVK case too. It's a very well constructed case with a couple of nice construction details for the cross to be comfortable in the case.

They are very nice cases. I have had several Knight's Cross of the War Merit Crosses for them, but the veteran threw away the cases. I have looked, but never found any for sale.

How true Bob, unlike the counterpart RK you never see a case for one of these for sale seperately do you !!

Per gram it's worth more metal wise and it's more rare than an RK, yet it's want and desrie = demand like anything in life thats reflected in the price etc

I prefer these cases to the RK case, I'm not so keen on my award without swords but the with swords examples cased I think look lovely in their presentation home (I don't own one of those of course)

The ribbons always look scruffy though and untidy I wish I knew how it should look as when presented in the case as I'd have mine looking that way.
