Gold Wound Badge With Blue Flock lining?

    Guys,
looked at a GWB at a show today. The Badge was an unmarked Tomback with a needle pin, but the box was a black material hinged box with a very poor fitting inner which had a blue flock lining. My feeling was to stay away as the whole package seemed to be made up of different bits which didn't 'gel' together. Does anyone know of this sort of package???

The WB is a genuine 30 gold wound badge.

The case probably isn't even for the WB ? The base does look wrong for the case perhaps and certainly the base covering in this instance looks to be at some time an 'addition'.

It looks to be an ealier type catch, even seen on some Imperial and with these rounded corners too on the case uuuummm Certainly a married badge and case in any instance. Not one for a wound badge collection me thinks.

I think you've noted all the points really for yourself

Marcus, thanks. the dealer was interested in getting some feedback, so I'll pass on your comments. When I took the badge to my dealer friend for comments, two other German dealers came over and commented on the badge, saying that it had been re-gilded, probably from a Silver -I think that this was based on the pin which they said should be a broad type on the Gold badge. I didn't believe this 'cause I've seen lots with needle pins, but you've confirmed my suspicions on the box -Thanks.
