          I understand mate

Nate, it's actually Walter & Henlien not Hentein. As I'm sure you know this is not an attributed maker to the EK and is one of the 'unknown' and I'll state one of the found makers via packets as indeed we have found a couple of others two (they were perhaps common knowedge before to some lesser or greater extent, but certainly little heed was taken up on them and the few/couple we've found aren't in any reference books to date that we're aware of)

Packets can be very interesting and useful

              Hello,

Nice packet. I've only got three as well (unless you have more), What do you guys think are the rarest maker marked packets.

              Thanks,

The overall hardest maker mark on packets to obtain or ever seen is the Juncker maker marked packets of the 39-45 period and for wartime issue awards.

Imperial and interwar years packets can be found.

I'm only aware of one genuine Juncker marked packet for a Eastern Front medal which I own......I dare say there are many more out there though, but in several years on the forums now, I still only know of my one.

EK packet wise and maker marks being rare, thats a difficult one and opinion will differ, but I'd say although some are more common than others, those that are not so common I do not personally deem them as rare.

Thanks for the correction!! I took the Ebay description at face value.
Are you saying a cross marked "109" was found paired with a Walter & Hentein packet
and the assumption was made? I guessed you mispelled Henlien, its actually Henlein (refer to packet). If you look at the packet databank
                  http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/iron...rs/109/109.htm
the maker is spelled "Walter & Hentein", like my original post. So whats going on here? Allan Pilch make the same mistake I did?? Walter & Hentein (EKII maker) and Walter & Henlein (packet maker)??

Thanks for the correction too, yeah my cock up there it's ....LEIN, I'm a bugger for spelling at the moment and grammar. I type to quick (as quick as you can with two fingers) and don't reread it

On the packet the actual lettering is that of an L not a T, so the title on that page is indeed incorrect the maker 109 is indeed Walter and Henlein, Gablonz.

I think also, that this is a known maker of EK isn't it, I have my wires crossed I think with another

Yes, glad we sorted that out.

We'll have a word with Seba to sort the correct spelling of the manufacturer in the Iron Cross reference section.. Well spotted Nate!

I'm glad the error was spotted
and I learned something in the process.
