Arh these, coin collectors use these and I've seen them in the UK, you may be able to buy them on-line on a coin/money collector site.

And this thread is fine on here, no worries, anything goes on this forum......post your badges, collections etc Allan and I don't mind at all

I personally don't lone this type of plastic envelope.

I understand that thy are prone to creating condensation, and that's a big no-no

Yeah in a ram shackle abode like mine and on these archipelago rain dominated Islands of Great Britain

Long term I would agree to an extent with factors of enviroment etc etc, but it depends on the quality of the plastic to, as plastic degrades and gives off vapour and produces tiny drops of plasticiser, which in laymans terms I believe are the physical properties which modify as such.

Museums use 'archival' plastic, polyester and quality polythene composed.

These coin collectors types probably use the good quality plastic sleeves and packets......I really don't know, but would suspect so perhaps.

          Ask !

I have my archive sleeves and boxes hand made here in New Zealand for approx. $NZ1 for a sleeve with a cardboard backing and a two piece cardboard box for approx $NZ7.00 (big enough for a cased RK).

              Checkout www.xe.com for a conversion.

Sleeves are used for crosses and combat badges but I also have sleeves made for medal packets e.g. EKII.

I have boxes for cased 'Flower War' medals, cased EK1's, KVK's RK's and Oaks - the later two being early cased 1957 versions.

All are just big enough for the case covered in inert tissue paper (supplied free) so that the case does not move around in the box and get scuffed.

Plastic, card, paper and cardboard are supposed to be guaranteed inert for 500 years although I dunno how they managed to test this.

Any size sleeve or box is available from the manufactures as all items are hand made.

I would post piccy's of items and manufaturers details but we are between moving house and it will be a month or so before I can post photos or get details but PM me and I will eventually get back to you when I have the info of the makers to hand if anyone is interested.

              Regards ...
