Perfectly genuine and intended for a silver or gold wound badge, the base is a 629, the way to recogise these is the cut out, the 'dog bone' type is a 629 cut out and the block and rounded cut out (621) is for an EK.

However it is not 'incorrect' to have a WB in one of these, as the general thought is that they also used these bases sometimes.

The box shell is exactly the same as some variants of the EK case, in fact alot of the time these hard shell cases are the exact same shells used for various other awards.
