      Hi FW 200,

Packets with ''Wachter'' do exist, I have one myself

So I think your packet is ok, but please post a picture so we can all see it.

      Greetings, Thomas

I haven't figured out how to work my camera yet, the posting pictures part. Envelope is blue, and looks like it has been through ww2. Also, it came with nice mm100 EK2. Thanks!

No problem Marcus, first thing in the morning, it's too dark to make a good picture now.

My packet is a standard packet with the small lettering.

I was thinking of a packet Niemann sold some weeks ago and I just looked for it. its a small packet with ''Wachtler''. I thought that the packet he sold was "Wachter" but it is "Wachtler"

This is Niemann's text with it:

Iron core, maker "100", near mint with ribbon in small size blue packet by matching maker, with printing error at maker mark "Wächtler", instead of "Wächter".

I'm confused right now. What it the right orthography?

            Greetings, Thomas

Uuumm interesting, most of all my 100 packets of various awards are Wachtler, thats numerous awards and packets of 'different' periods as such ???

I would say Detlev was more incorrect than correct as such in this instance, but then being a non fluent German speaker really with little or no real knowledge of the German language I could be wrong ?

At this moment in time though, I would still advocate Wachtler as he more correct spelling though. If the packet tallies with genuine thought, and the maker name is incorrect, I have no problem with that of course. Just Detlev's description in this instance as brought up.

Pic's are always best to affiirm (or try to), but I'd say Thomas, Detlev could be mistaken here !!!

If I'm wrong so be it, and I stand to be corrected

                            Hi Marcus,

I will see if I can make out more of the name on the packet, Could be interesting if it is the retailer, good point

Allan, can you look at all your Wachter/Wachtler und Lange EKII packets how it is printed.

This is my theory: The large packet is the more common packet. Niemann probably sells more of these than of the small packets, therefor thinking that the name is ''Wachter'' instead of ''Wachtler''. It could be that all large packets of Wachtler are misprinted Wachter. If someone could show us a large EKII packet with Wachtler, this theory shatters. In that case it would probably be that just one large printing order was misspelled.

Marcus, can you also look at your Wachtler packets. How many are Wachter, probably only your large EKII packets.

                            Greetings, Thomas

I got my packet and cross from Det about two weeks ago. It is the normal size, marked Wachter and Lange on the reverse in a small block, as in the example posted on this thread. Also has 2 Klasse on front.
