West Wall Packet - unique maker

Here is a West Wall packet with a unique makers mark. It is unique in the sense that I cannot find reference to this maker. Has any one seen this maker before? The packet is made of a thick/heavy paper with good letter definition.

This would be deemed by alot if not most collectors as an earlier example of the West Wall medal, myself included.

It looks to be a nice non zinc version of an earlier production of a better quality and detail definition. Also, the full length of the wheat 'cum' yellow ribbon, rather than the more 'orange' looking colour, again association with earlier variations of this common medal is thought with reason in terms of the yellowish ribbon.

Common yes, but if you're going to own one of these, then for me, this is the version without a doubt.

I'm not aware of this maker and can't find reference to it which is again another interesting attribute to this paticular medal and packet you have.

The packet, not an incipient award packet, as I feel the very first ones of these produced perhaps came in the maker marked and devoid of designation packet. The same can be said of almost any award and medal in my opinion that was in the first year or two of the war or just before.

Certainly an earlier packet though in my opinion, this gauge of paper and colouring and fine printing. I have a feeling this would be one of the medals made around the time before 1941 perhaps than the latter reintroduction of the medal in 1944. Made in the millions of course and issued so to; I'd imagine it would not be uncommon perhaps for these earlier medals as such to have also beein issued in the latter war years.

Just my thoughts and interpretation of events. a keeper of a nice medal John !!! The experts on such I'm sure will be able to divulge more and correct me if worng.

Gentlemen, Thank you for the replies and Marcus thank you for the dissertation . I guess I should have been clearer about my comment of the maker (SHuCo). What I meant to say is that I have never seen this maker associated with this medal and is not as common as the "Carl Poellath" and "Schrobenhausen/Schrobenhansen" type packets.

Here's a sample of some more, although I've put a duplicate in this selection. When I'm bored and and out of a minor interest I collect the makers for the West Wall medal, my list is on my other computer. It's also an affordable packet to get the variations in makers names........as a sample.

A common underated, undervalued and 'non-collectable' award at the moment, I wonder if Frank will do a book on the West Wall medal ......maybe not eh !!

The maker is Anton Markovskys Sohn, Gablonz am Neiße (M1/161).

I only know his RZM code and don't know if there also is a PKZ or LDO code,
