EK1 case and cross question

I recently turned down an EK1 cased. I believe with good reason,,I HOPE! The case was thinner and flat and had no latch, it was black with no cross marking on the outside. The cross was brass and non magnetic. Any pics with this kind of item??

Hard to say whit no pic´s off it. But there is those half betuis they dont have latch or hinge, most off them comes whit LDO markt EK´s. And non magnetic EK´s can also be found whit brass zink or copper core.

Sounds like the normal late war thin cardboard box to me, by the description, sounds right no catch or cross on top.

Yup, and it was a very shallow box,,,would the cross being brass signify also that it is late war? Iron shortages??

Only the core not the complete EK. But there is a very early type that is solid, and are supose to be OK. Later war all have to be 3 pice made.

sorry to not note that,,,it was only the core. A bit angry I passed it up now,,but I would think the early or mid war creosses are more desirable.

Oppps well then im almost shure it was the half betui and the EK was a LDO made EK, and sorry to say most likely a geniun set.
