Wood insert EK1 case?

Absolutely textbook and typical for early examples like the case you show!
Later the wooden inlets were replaced by cardboard.
No worries there, all fine.

What EK1 manufacturer do you think used this type of case?

Hard to determine Brian.
My Schinkel Deumer came in that case.
Fits to every early production cross.

Textbook case inlet. Standart with the manufacturer way to do these. These case with wooden inlet were made until 1939 early 1940. I am not a cross guy but an early cross would be my guess.
