I doubt that such an insignia ever existed. I believe it’s supposed to be early SA/SS or something like that. Glider pilot is an aeronautic qualification and in the Third Reich such licenses were represented by breast emblems, not cuff titles. Well embroidered with the desireable 7-strand edges, nonetheless.
I believe Marco is incorrect about this cuff title never existing. There is one currently listed for sale on the Germanwarbooty.com website and John T. Knows his stuff.

Many cuff titles originating from after the war, were embroidered with these material. Dealers (from the Netherlands) found many rolls of them after the war and had made lots of fake cuffbands in the early seventies or about.
These days they are in collections and said it are originals.
About the shown cuffband: I would not know a reason for such item to exist. I think Marco is right with what he says.
