    DEMJANSK SHIELD-Magnetic..Original

I have truly tried to understand all the points about serifs, propellers and logs..This shield appears to be a good one. I believe it is the earlier magnetic, flat stamped steel, silver finish, version with 4 prong back.

    Original?

If the shield is magnetic, I would suggest it is a good one by Unknown Maker

The examples like this that are made from zinc are the ones considered to be reproductions

    Cheers

I agree with Doug, this shield is original and is the one the fake with the serif "J" and moving prop is based on.

Please explain why you consider this type as a fake.

The same situation as with Krim
Unfortunately, so far no convincing or documentary facts about existence of shield Demyansk of this kind are found. If you have other convincing information on this type, it will be interesting to hear it.
Besides, on appearance I consider this Demyansk the copy of the original shield Demyansk type.
Some more moments, on the discussed shield Demyansk meet various paper substrate. Black, light, green paper (on original shields of such different paper doesn't happen) .kotory is most often pasted by silicate glue which wasn't applied on original shields. At influence of solvent for nitropaints paint the covering shield is erased that also can't be on an original subject.

              Yury,

Just like the thread on the Krim shield you keep avoiding answering the question why this type of shield (according to you) is a fake. The answer is quite simple, you can’t.
Just because you didn’t do any research in this type of shield and therefore don’t think this type is original doesn’t make it a fake. Like I did with the Krim shield thread I did do the research and could point out many reasons why this type is original but I am sure you would start again to discuss these points without pointing out once why this type is a fake, just like you did in Krim thread

It is very easy to reply to a fellow collector with “original” or “fake” but the knowledge to back these statements up is the hard part. This is what neither you nor your other fellow Russian collector seem to understand.

Pascal, I apologize, but it seems that you not absolutely understand it. I have stated disputed issues on shield above.
On any antiquarian subject it is necessary to prove his originality, but not falseness. It is good of course when gentlemen are taken a word, but it is much better after all the facts. On Demyansku's so far of the facts of his existence at the time of 3 Reich it isn't found yet. Maybe you have a good documentary photo or any other document? It will be interesting to look. For now there are no 100% of a guarantee for this shield, it will be doubtful acquisition.
But I don't know who to what principles of collecting adheres, but I state the opinion on the matter. Finally everyone decides to put what historical subject in the collection
